Fr. J.J. McCarthy, O.Carm., Director

Carmelite Father J.J. McCarthy is the Director of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat and Spirituality Center, and joined the Retreat Center staff in January, 2009.

Father McCarthy has extensive educational and pastoral experience. His ministries include secondary education in Carmelite High Schools, Seminary Education and Adult Education.

In 1986, he began pastoral ministry at parishes in both Tucson, AZ, and Houston, TX.

Sr. Carmella T. DeCosty, SNJM, Administrator

Sister Carmella T. DeCosty is a Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary and has ministered in Florida since 1969. In addition to serving in the Archdiocese of Miami and the Diocese of Venice, Sister Carmella also held assignments in the Dioceses of Albany, NY, and Richmond, VA.

From 1976 until the establishment of the Venice Diocese, Sister Carmella served as Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Miami. In May 1985, she was appointed by Bishop John J. Nevins as the Director of Education for the new Diocese.

In 1990, Sister Carmella was appointed Executive Assistant to Bishop Nevins and served in that capacity until June 1999, when she began her full-time ministry as Administrator of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat and Spirituality Center. Email here.
